danger-loving dwarves that the quest will include many mishaps and
perilous encounters with goblins, trolls, and dwarf-eating spiders. Among

an enchanted ring that turns its wearer invisible, and soon the hobbit

Sacagawea Produced and written by Rolf Forsberg. Without Sacagawea,
the Corp of Discovery undoubtedly would've suffered great loss or failed

the soldiers on the expedition faced. She was able to negotiate for horses
with other Indian tribes and find safe natural food, like roots, to eat in
a new environment. Re-enacted beautifully, this program takes you back in
time and through the eyes of Sacagawea, relive the journey of the Corp of
Discovery through uncharted terrain, over the Rockies to the Pacific Ocean

Mister Johnson Pierce Brosnan, Edward Woodward, Maynard Eziashi. In
1923 British Colonial Nigeria, Mister Johnson is an oddity -- an educated
black man who doesn't really fit in with the natives or the British. He
works for the local British magistrate, and considers himself English,
though he has never been to England. He pretends to be something he isn't
and has to face himself and a deadly outcome. Brosnan is splendid as
the stiff upper lip officer who must carry out the sentence. 1990 Color 97

Widow's Peak Mia Farrow, Joan Plowright, Natasha Richardson. A
sparkling comedy with a murder mystery foundation. Richardson moves to the
Irish town of Widow's Peak in the 1920's where she stirs things up in a
big way with her knack at seduction and her talent of jealousy provoking.
She tells all sorts of scandalous secrets and lies, but all the while it's
part of a bigger plan. The scheme is exposed after a series of startling
revelations, but the final scheme could be much bigger, and deadlier. The
movie's writer, Irish playwright Hugh Leonard, originally wrote the part
of Miss O'Hare especially for Maureen O'Sullivan, but she gracefully
reneged because of her advanced age and dwindling stamina. Her daughter
Mia Farrow ultimately took over the role. 1994 Color 98 min.
Theatre of Blood Vincent Price, Diana Rigg, Ian Hendry, Robert
Morley, Harry Andrew. This movie has a twisted and delicious sense of
humor and is fitting tribute to the acting skills of Vincent Price.
Directed with delectable British wit by Douglas Hickox, the comedy is
decidedly dark when Vincent Price--as effete has-been thespian Richard
Lionheart--wreaks poetic justice upon the snobby critics who panned his
performances and drove him to a failed attempt at suicide. Reciting his
poor reviews and staging murders inspired by Shakespearean tragedies, the
actor and his Dickensian coterie of accomplices (including Diane Rigg,
sexy as ever) dispatch their victims with shocking ingenuity, and by the
time Lionheart reenacts Titus Andronicus by gorging one dog-loving critic
(the hilariously poofy Robert Morley) on toy-poodle stew, Theatre of Blood
reaches giddy heights of outrageous vengeance. It's all in good fun, of
course, and the film's esteemed British cast plays it to the hilt, none
better than Price in one of his most entertaining roles. aka Much
Ado About Murder. 1973 color 104 minutes
Killing Affair, A Peter Weller, Kathy Baker, John Glover A twisted
murder mystery set in Appalachians in the 1940s. Kathy Baker plays a young
wife and mother who finds her abusive husband murdered in their shed. A
mysterious stranger shows claiming to have killed him after finding out he
had an affair with his wife. Strangely enough, the woman takes the
stranger in and starts to fall for him. Now in a bigger mess, Baker must
find a way to unravel the web of fear and cover-ups that threaten both her
and her family. 1986 Color 101 min.
Absolution Richard Burton, Billy Connolly, Dominic Guard, Andrew
Keir. It's a gripping thriller, and Richard Burton is utterly convincing
in the kind of role he was born to play (a rigid priest/teacher, but with
traces of humanity underneath). At a Catholic public school, Benjamin
Stanfield is tired of being the teacher's pet and decides to play a
practical joke on his form master Father Goddard. In confession, Stanfield
tells Goddard that he has accidentally murdered his friend Blakey and
buried him in the forest. When Goddard investigates the matter, he finds a
buried scarecrow. Goddard is outraged, but, due to the seal of confession,
he knows he cannot expel Stanfield. Shortly after, Stanfield once again
enters the confession booth, telling Goddard that what before was a
practical joke, he has now made happen. In disbelief, Goddard once again
goes to the forest to investigate the matter. This time, he discovers
Blakey's dead body. The plot soon thickens as Stanfield's fellow student
Arthur Dyson mysteriously disappears... Very suspenseful film. 1978 Color
95 minutes.

Home Movies Kirk Douglas, Vincent Gardenia, Keith Gordon, Nancy
Allen. Gordon is a creative young man who films the oddball doings of his
family and peers. Kirk Douglas is terrific as the "The Maestro"
who appears frequently to give him pointers on his techniques. It's almost
a film about a young man making the film. It's a send-up of self-made
stardom, adultery, male dominant control, and the craftiness in the craft
of film-making, and it's very funny.1980 Color 90 minutes. Rated R.
